Industrial Electricity

This program involves the study of residential and commercial electrical systems and services according to relevant codes and safety practices. Besides electricians, career choices include electrical power-line installers and repairers, security and fire alarm system installer, and telecommunications line installers and repairers.

Electrical I: Course content includes leadership development, safe practices, installing conduit, conductors, residential and commercial electrical systems and services according to national and state codes. This course gives students an introductionto the skill and knowldege base typically required for apprentice electricians.

Electrical II: A course in which students will learn and practice intermediate skills related to electrical systmes, with emphasis on commercial systems. Topics covered include over current protection; sixing conductors; lighting systems; three-phase motors; motor control circuits; sizing raceways, boxes, and fittings; and connecting distribution transformers, including a laboratory experience conducted in a shop environment that supports electrical assembly projects by students
