Industrial Electricity
This course combines classroom instruction and hand-on experiences utilizing actual equipment and/or related training devices to give the student the necessary background to enter industrial maintenance or construction. Students begin by completing approximately 400 hours of basic electricity and safety followed by 400 hours of transformers, motors, motor controls and 400 hours of National Electrical Code general installations. At this time, the student may decide to study 400 hours of Programmable Logic Controllers for the Industrial Electrician Diploma or 400 hours of Commercial and Industrial Electrical Wiring for the Construction Electrician Diploma. Both diplomas include 900 hours of internship and 40 hours of robotics. Advanced electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics are available as supplemental certificate courses.
