Compass Exam

The Compass is a requirement for all potential Practical Nursing students. It is an untimed computerized test that  measures your skill level in reading (reading comprehension and vocabulary) and math (basic operations integers, basic operation fractions, basic operation decimals, ratios, proportions, and percentages). The test takes approximately 2 hours, and you will receive your scores that day. The test cost $15.00 and you must pre-register and pre-pay.  To schedule the test please visit the Technology Center at 635.3368 .  The cost is  $15 (cash only) – you must have a Photo ID to register. You may obtain Compass practice questions at http://www.act.org/compass/sampleand http://www.testprepreview.com. For your convenience, you may take the test at any location and have the results faxed or emailed to Student Services). Because of the alarmingly high number of applicants that we receive, we select only the top 40 scoring individuals to invite to our Orientation, potential students are then interviewed by a panel of nursing professionals and/or faculty. The panel will make recommendations to the Nursing Advisory Committee and the Committee will select the class of 20-25 students. testing begins promptly at 8:30, Our testing schedule is as follows:

The deadline to submit Compass scores for consideration of the May 2012 class at our Bells campus is Febrary 3, 2012 at 4:30 p.m.
